With the introduction of 'Friend Locator'- "GYPSII" ( http://www.gypsii.com/), mobile users have more reason to track down the location of their love ones, friends, colleage, parents, kids or even anyone. However, the feasibility of this functionality has to be appropriately assessed before it will be introduced into every mobile phone in the future. Some points to think abouts when implementing this feature into mobile phone:
1. The feature has to be optional, turn off by default. Let the user to choose to opt in. This is to prevent privacy violation.
2. There will be an agreement to sign up this service. Unique identifier to tag to this service to the phone has to be established to allow authentication. This is also to prevent misuse of the feature and prevent unauthorised users such as terrorist.
3. This feature has to be hard-coded into the chip of the phone to complement point #2 above. In the event of missing phone, the phone can be traced to its unique identifier to the phone and to the original users.

I am not impressed. Handphone has some how cause our daily life to be more tensed. Not a service which able to track your location.
ya agree...however when people are lacking of feature to enhance in handphone then you have to come out with many useless features..
