Microsoft IE 8 beta is out...

This beta is aimed at web developers and designers to help them take advantage of new features in Internet Explorer 8 that will enhance their websites..

I am more concern about their security. Microsoft has spent huge money in R& D and secure coding. However there are Microsoft related vulnerabilities coming out almost every month. For novice users, they are not educated about vulnerabilities, thus it means nothing to them. As long as the interface looks professional and interesting, they are willing to give a try. Many times, when things hit wrong, they will start think about security. Will it be too late, when things hit wrong, risks have been created, security has been compromised and more importantly your critical information has been leaked. One of the good security strategies in reducing such a risk is to evaluate the product before put in use.

For novice user, this may sound daunting to do so, so my advice is to put in “wait-and-see” mode and when the product has been reviewed and rated as comfortable to use in terms of security by the security expert, then you may give it a try. When a product is in Beta mode, it means there may be many loopholes that are not fixed or there maybe some bugs that required more feedback to enhance the product. And more importantly if you are the product manager, you have to come out with some enhancements ever year to keep your job. If no new features, why are you hired?

Relax..this is just my two cent worth and not represent opinion of any parties..
