Olympic torch relay kicks off

The Olympic torch begins a 130-day, 85,000-mile journey that will take it from the site of ancient Olympia in Greece to Beijing, China, where the 2008 summer games will begin in August.

I noted that the torch is not supposed to be put out throughout the whole journey and what happen if the torch was put out during the journey? Lit it again with the correct source of fire.
There is a backup torch in this case. I never think that far back to 1936 when the first modern torch relay was introduced, a contingency plan was already put in place. Surprised that people already have high availability concept in mind half century ago. What you heard about high availability for computer systems or critical system is not new at all!!
