Yum Cha's yam and pumpkin golden cake


















I couldn't find a good pumpkin cake since I was back from Sarawak in July (Where I recommended it in my blog as well) until last Saturday. We visited Yum Cha restaurant in China town for the second time despite the bad weather. It was raining heavily but it did stop us from stepping out of our house to find good food. Same good crowds as usual, the place was packed with families even though we arrived around 130pm. We were greeted with warm smiles and offered many carts of dim sums. We wanted to try something new this time as we were already sick of the standard "Xiu Mai", "Ha kao" and "Xiao long Pao". We ordered one of their signature dishes called "pumpkin yam golden cake". It was really good that the yam was sliced and stuffed with pumpkin. It was appropriately deep fried and the yam was so fresh that you can resist from ordering another plat. The moral of the story is to venture other special dishes that you normally will not order, it will sometimes give you a surprise and you will not regret!!
